Spanning three hectares of land, the Panamanian Arab International Academy serves the educational needs of the city of Margarita, in the province of Colón. Located in one of the fastest growing areas of the country, the province enjoys a diversified economic base, oriented mainly to the import and export trade, because it is located the Colon Free Zone.
Currently, the area consists of four secondary schools, using a K-12 grade configuration, with AIAP being the only SACS accredited international school of AdvancEd. The student body is culturally diverse with a population that is 25% Hispanic, 1% Afro-descendant, 62% Arab descendants and 12% Asian. In AIAP, 8 religions are in harmony and Islam is practiced philosophically.
The school is taught in three languages: English, Spanish and Arabic.
Academia Internacional Árabe Panameña, is a comprehensive three-year private high school enrolling 58 students in grades 10–12. The school opened in August of 1983 and graduated its first senior class in 1989. AIAP is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and holds membership in the College Board and the TRI Association.
